Eastern Washington 2-1-1, a telephone resource line operated by Frontier Behavioral Health, is partnering with emergency responders in Airway Heights to identify residents who need help managing a water contamination advisory.
Residents in Airway Heights have been advised against drinking tap water that is suspected of contamination from chemical runoff at Fairchild Air Force Base. While more tests are being conducted, emergency responders are providing bottled water to residents. The tap water is safe to use, however, for laundry, bathing and kitchen dishes.
Residents who need drinking water delivered can text EWHELP to 898211. They will be asked to text their current address to the resource line as well as the number of adults, children and pets in the household. 2-1-1 operators will respond as quickly as possible to make arrangements for delivery.
Eastern Washington 2-1-1 serves Spokane, Ferry, Pend Oreille and Stevens counties. It is part of a statewide database that contains thousands of health and human services providers.
