It is with great sadness that Frontier Behavioral Health announces the death of Chief Executive Officer Jeff Thomas. Jeff died on Aug. 25 from respiratory complications. He was 62.
"This is devastating news for everyone at FBH and within the behavioral healthcare community," said Mary Giannini, president of the FBH board of directors. "We send our deepest sympathies to Jeff's family, friends, colleagues and FBH clients, past and present."
Thomas became CEO of FBH in 2012 with the retirement of David Panken. FBH was established in 2011 following the merger of Family Service Spokane and Spokane Mental Health. During his tenure at FBH, Jeff successfully guided the agency through the challenges of healthcare reform and the state's transition to integrated behavioral healthcare. Today, FBH is the region's lead provider of comprehensive behavioral healthcare with more than 700 staff.
Reflective of Jeff's commitment to clients and staff, FBH operations will continue uninterrupted. The board of directors will meet on Aug. 30 to discuss next steps. In the interim, the agency's Executive Leadership Team will jointly manage daily operations.< Back to news
