Are you a grandparent or other family member raising a relative’s child? You are not alone.
More than 40,000 people in the state of Washington are caring for a relative’s child. The financial, legal and emotional issues of raising a relative’s child can be challenging. Services and support as you learn to negotiate the system can be a lifesaver!
Our Kinship Navigator is here to help by providing:
- advocacy, information and referral services
- information on how to access and apply for services
- help with problem-solving
The Kinship Caregiver Support Program has funds available to assist eligible lower-income kinship caregivers with some basic needs. We help kinship care families establish greater self-sufficiency and long-term stability needed to keep their children.
