Inpatient services are provided to individuals 18 years of age or older within FBH’s two 16-bed E&T programs. The primary goal of E&T services is to help stabilize individuals who are experiencing psychiatric instability, who are at risk of harm to themselves or others, or who are gravely disabled as a result of their psychiatric condition, as well as to prevent the need for psychiatric hospitalization.
Individuals may be referred to E&T services on either a voluntary or involuntary basis. The length of inpatient services varies depending on the needs of the individual, but is typically six to eight days. Services provided include:
- Psychiatric and nursing assessments
- Crisis intervention and stabilization services
- Medication management
- Education related to life skills and understanding medication effects
- Discharge planning, including referrals and linkage to other resources in the community
Referrals to E&T services can be made by calling 509-838-4428.
