FBH psychologists also provide legally mandated court evaluation services to ensure individuals who have been detained under the Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) meet legal requirements associated with the ITA process. Individuals must be suicidal, homicidal, and/or gravely disabled and their condition must be attributable to a diagnosable mental illness. Psychologists work with detained patients, their families, medical staff, E&T staff, Designated Crisis Responders, other community providers and private-sector clinicians to obtain information relevant to the ITA process.
