Co-Responders

The Co-Responder program pairs mental health professionals with first responders (Spokane Police Department, Spokane Fire Department, and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office) to provide immediate intervention and stabilization services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. The goal of these teams is to divert individuals from inappropriate use of services by offering resources. Services are provided to individuals of all ages and families.

Teams provide rapid response and can help with:

  • Assessment services
  • Crisis intervention
  • Engagement
  • Supportive counseling
  • Referral and linkage to requested or necessary resources including appropriate community-based mental health and chemical dependency services for ongoing treatment and follow-up to individuals and families of all ages in community-based settings.
